PASSION | PURPOSE
Our purpose is to shine a light on raw and vulnerable stories. We believe these stories have a special ability to connect humanity. In this case specifically, we see “loss” being the universal theme. We also see ‘hope’. We all deal with loss, and realize it’s a personal journey, but when we share our stories, each of us can find common ground in the process and healing can take place on a deeper level through community connectivity.
FILM APPROACH
To create a docu-short Art Film; Genre - Narrative/Documentary
Based on true events of photographer, Laura Schneider
“A PICTURE IS TRULY WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS”
SYNOPSIS
(EX)POSED is a dramatic short film inspired by an artist’s response to one of the deadliest fire epidemics America has ever seen. What started as a genuine act of service to photograph and honor the devastation of loved ones turns into a gripping testimony of resilience. Full of raw and vulnerable expressions of cinematic artistry, the film invites you into the life of a photographer and her journey to capture their collective rise from the ashes. The film’s action campaign brings awareness to fire preparedness and prevention while providing tangible ways to be involved in Northern California’s ongoing efforts to rebuild.

LAURA SCHNEIDER
WRITER | DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY | MAIN CHARACTER
Laura Schneider Photo is a digital + film lifestyle photography business that was founded in the heart of Sonoma County in 2015. A lover of people with a passion for storytelling, Laura has been on a mission to create work that mattered from the beginning. Her unassuming approach to storytelling always strikes a familiar chord, often times making you see something, long for something, or remember something in your own life you didn’t know you had forgotten. Though Laura spends a lot of her time thoughtfully creating beautifully styled work, she doesn’t shy away from the hard stuff, which is why she found herself standing in the ashes of her friends lives with nothing but a manual film camera and pockets full of film after the devastating Northern California wildfires of 2017. (EX)POSED is her attempt to put gold into the cracks of her community and ultimately a love letter to those determined to rise, from wherever they’ve been knocked down, stronger than ever before. After several years in Northern California, Laura Schneider Photo has recently relocated to Nashville, TN and continues to travel coast to coast, for work and adventure, and anywhere there’s a story to tell.
